WORK
Lazarus’s work develops across interconnected series that explore femininity, perception, and the construction of meaning within contemporary visual culture. Working across figurative painting, collage, and mixed media, she investigates the relationship between the female body, landscape, identity, and desire. The pages below trace this progression, from recent paintings to earlier foundational works and the thesis project that established the visual and conceptual foundations of her practice.
This new body of work examines partnership, social hierarchy, and shared power through layered structure, fragmentation, and reversible imagery.
The conceptual origins of Lazarus’s practice, completed during her BFA at Cornell University.
